We're so glad you're here! We’re Maddy and Taylor, a married couple with a passion for life on wheels. We started Solar Roller Skate Shop to fill a need in Colorado Springs (and all over the world) for an accessible skate scene that breaks down barriers to entry while providing visibility for female and queer skaters. Our mission is to make skating more inclusive—bringing joy and empowerment through accessible gear, community, education, and events. Let's roll!

We believe that skating should be accessible to everyone. That's why we provide free online educational resources to help you learn to skate wherever you are. We also offer sliding scales, free donated gear, and scholarship programs to remove financial barriers and ensure everyone has the opportunity to roll!

Hiya, I'm Maddy!
I fell in love with skating in 2021 after trying on a friend’s skates—and from that first roll, I was hooked! Skating pulled me out of a dark time in my life and gave me joy, empowerment, and purpose. Today, it’s how I express myself and connect with others! In Colorado Springs, I lead a local skate group, teach classes, and host events to make skating fun, inclusive, and accessible—because everyone deserves to feel the magic of life on wheels!

Skateboarding’s been part of my life since I was a kid, and while my skate style differs from Maddy’s, we share a love for wheels, community, and connection! I’m all about creating welcoming spaces—and through Solar Roller, I get to do just that. Behind the scenes, I’m packing your orders with care and handling daily operations to ensure everything runs smoothly. Supporting this community lights me up, and I’m stoked to be part of your skate journey!
